Waring MX 1200 XT Blender
The XT stands for Extreme. This blender comes with a 3.5 hp motor. As a very cost-effective residential use or commercial kitchen use and application, the Waring MX 1200 XT Blender features power, longevity, and smoothie blending quality. The Waring container is completely inter-changeable with the Vita-Mix blenders (5200, 5000, 4500, Vita-Prep 2 and Vita-Prep 3). We have found that the Vita-Mix container has a better blade and blend response when used on the Waring blenders. This does not mean that the Waring blenders are bad. We have found that the container is great, but could likely use some improvements. Also, the Waring blenders, while the company suggested a 45000 rpm of its 3.5 hp motors, this is a bare motor rpm. The motor runs quieter than the Vita-Mix Vita-Prep 3 but does not have as much speed as the Vita-Mix Vita Prep 3. We would love to put a package together for our customers consisting of the Waring MX1200XT blender and equipped with the Vita-Mix container. But then we wouldn't know what to do with the Waring container. |

The Waring blenders are very heavy and heavy-duty blenders featuring rubber protection on each corner side of the blender base. The blender sits sturdy on the countertop without the slightest movement. We also like the quick on/of switch. The MX1200XT blender runs immediately on low if turned. The variable speed turning knob located in the middle of the operation pad offers great blending. To the left is the pulse over-ride button. The MX1050XT is equally strong as the MX1200XT, but the operation is by electronic keypad up/down speed button. That is pretty much it with the 1050XT. It cost of course about $100 less than the 1200XT, but... the operation is pretty lame. One can do much better with the HP3A Blendtec keypad and operational functionalities featuring 25 pre-programmed blending cycles. |

| Vita-Mix Containers | Because the Vita-Mix containers and Waring jars are 100% inter-changeable, you can purchase an extra Vita-Mix jar, either 32 oz wet or dry blade, or a 64 oz wet blade container with lid and use that with the Waring MX1200XT with much more efficacy. And on top of it, as you know, the Vita-Mix containers come in a wet-blade or dry-blade option. One for wet goods (veggies and fruits) and the other one for dry goods such as grain, wheat, rice, etc…. You can now purchase your Vita-Mix 32 oz container with wholegrain cookbook as well |
| Tamper | The Waring Blender could use a Tamper occasionally. Guess what, the Vita-Mix Tamper works just fine. It does not reach all the way down to just a little gap off from the blade, but it works sufficiently adequate pushing down the ingredients. |

Our Opinion:
The MX1200XT Waring blender is very compatible to the Vita-Mix Vita-Prep 3 blender with its 3 hp motor and manual operation sophistication. It is simple to use and features an on/off switch, a variable/fast override switch and a variable speed knob. The glass container really makes it a greater blender. But glass has some breaking disadvantages in the worst case and replacement cost is higher than with the Vita-Mix.
