The Waring 1 HP blender is certainly not a 2 hp blender. But this one is coming close to one in smoothie refining. It does not crush and break cell walls like a 2 hp blender, or even a 3 hp or better yet, a 3.5+ hp blender, such as the ICB7 and 20 AMP Smoother. But for attempting daily two or three times an ice drink or veggie smoothie / fruit smoothie or making ice cream, $ 275.00 buys a lot of blender. Shipping is included and outside of Florida Sales Tax is not applicable. For less than 100$ you can upgrade to a 2 hp blender Vita Mix 4500 blender.
